So far I have no more energy than when I first started and has developed neuropathy which I have just found out from Web MD that this neuropathy is one of the side effects of this med! Saying that by stopping this it would take another 6 months to build up the benefit. There are other meds that can help with what you are experiencing, and if your doctor didn't address that then I would seek out a second opinion... Please don't stop your plaquenil until you are sure it is the right thing to do and in your best interest.

Jul 24, 2019 Call your doctor if the condition you are treating with ginseng does not improve, or if it gets worse while using this product. If you need surgery or dental work, stop taking ginseng at least 2 weeks ahead of time. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. If you definitely cannot take the plaquenil, then you should speak with your rheumy about starting may make you start to feel better. There are other anti-malaria drugs on the market that your rheumy can put you on instead of the plaquenil. But, make sure the he/she is convinced that you are actually allergic to the plaquenil.

Plaquenil is a 6-weeker as far as the benefits are concerned, but it would be more dangerous to stop if you spend a lot of time outside and if this were the summer. Or maybe another doctor if you're not comfortable w/your current one.

Panax ginseng is important for the overall well being of the human body. However, when taking Panax ginseng supplements, you should be cautious about combining it with other supplements or medications. Dr. Conovalciuc responded Yes. Vitamin c is fine to take while taking these medications. Not sure why you would take it, though. Recent studies have shown that your food should provide you with enough vitamins so if your food is inadequate, dietary modifications are necessary to get it where it should be. I only worry that you being off of plaquenil completely for 2 weeks is going to back fire and start your inflamation again which will take a while for the plaquenil to kick back in. If you start feeling sick with a lupus flare, make sure you call your dr. immediately and see if you can start a low dose of it again.
